about my work
I am a Minded Yoga Therapist specialising in supporting women who are dealing with experiences of anxiety, stress and overwhelm.
I am interested in helping women develop a deeper relationship with their own body by bringing the body into the healing framework. A relationship which expands past the boundaries of aesthetic or performance, and frames the body as a wise companion for living a rich and authentic human life.
Our anxieties and stresses don’t exist only in our mind. They live within our body, our ability to access our intuition, and within our capacity to experience life and relationships on a deeper level. Yoga Therapy expands further than the mind and cognition, and into a creative and spiritual realm where we consider everything as connected.
I am the founder of grow yoga therapeutic space, based in Sheffield. This is one of my proudest creations, and is built upon the values of social connection, rest as a healing force and living in rhythm with our body / the cycles of nature over the man-made rhythms of our fast paced culture. With the help of a small team of teachers, a beautiful community is flourishing.
I host regular women’s circles and one of my greatest joys is creating spaces for women to feel more connected with themselves and each other. I offer friendly mentoring to local yoga teachers and I am currently in training as a Yoga Therapy Supervisor.
I have completed additional training in Womb Yoga Therapy with Uma Dinsmore-Tuli, and where possible I integrate menstrual cycle consciousness into my Yoga Therapy work. Many of us are unknowingly living in line with a man-made rhythm rather than the rhythm of our own body and the natural world.
Connecting with the menstrual cycle can bring us back into the body’s wisdom, and help us to operate from a more authentic and empowered place. The hormonal cycles can also have a significant effect on anxiety and stress management, many people find empowerment from integrating menstrual cycle consciousness into the therapy process.
I am currently taking on new Yoga Therapy clients, both online and in person. Please fill out the form below or email elisha@grow-yoga.co.uk to book a free welcome call.
